Mya is a Plott Hound trained specifically for wounded-deer tracking. Together, we work difficult trails throughout Mid-Michigan and surrounding areas.
Before you grid search: A lost blood trail does not necessarily mean the scent trail is gone. Extra boots, ATVs, and repeated searching can make the track harder to sort out. When in doubt, back out and call.

What To Do After The Shot
The decisions made in the first few hours can have a huge effect on the track.
Mark the Location
Mark where you were standing, where the deer was hit, and the last confirmed blood or sign.
Back Out When Needed
If the evidence suggests the deer may still be alive, additional pressure can push it farther and make recovery harder.
Protect the Trail
Limit unnecessary walking, grid searching, dogs, ATVs, and vehicle traffic through the suspected route.
